At the customer's request, we designed the 10KVAC 10NF high-voltage ceramic capacitor product. I took the GC and DL design schemes and gave them to the customer at the same time, let the customer make their own choices. The differences between the two are as follows:
In terms of size, GC medium has no advantage. The designed high-voltage ceramic electropneumatic products can be available in two sizes: one is 160mm in diameter and 100mm in height; the other is 120mm in diameter and 180mm in height. That is, if the guest The height is strict, you can choose the former. If the diameter is strict, you may choose the latter. But in general, both sizes are too large. If you use DL media, the size is 80MM in diameter and 200MM in height.
In terms of electrical performance, the performance of the high-voltage ceramic capacitors of the two media is quite different. First, in terms of partial discharge, the GC medium performs excellently. Within 15KVAC, the local main power is basically zero. The DL medium has a little partial discharge.
In terms of AC withstand voltage characteristics, the high-voltage ceramic capacitors of GC medium perform quite well. At 60KVAC test, there is no problem at all. DL medium is only suitable for testing at around 45KVAC.
In the lightning impact test, the GC medium high-voltage ceramic capacitor is tested three times in a positive and negative impact between 75KV and 80KV. It is completely no problem. Of course, the DL medium has the same performance as the high-voltage ceramic capacitor. No significant difference.
In addition to the large difference in PD performance, the temperature characteristics are the biggest difference. Between -20 degrees and +85 degrees, the temperature change rate of GC medium is less than 3%. The rate of change of DL is about 30%.
GC and DL high-voltage ceramic capacitors have different performances, and can choose media according to different requirements. It is not that GC is the best, all use GC medium. The right one is the best, DL is relatively low cost, and The high price of GC has a certain impact on its market.
